Sofiko Dzhvarsheishvili

Sofiko Dzvarsheishvili is a scientific researcher at the department of human geography at the Vakhushti Bagrationi Institute of Geography at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University and a PhD student at the faculty of economics and business of the same university. In 2001 she graduated from Mikhail Lomonosov Moscow State University, faculty of geography specialization of economic and social geography.

Since 2007 she is working as a lecturer at public and private higher education institutions. Among others, she was an invited lecturer at the department of macroeconomics at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University. Currently, she is working at Tbilisi Humanitarian Teaching University as an invited lecturer for management at the faculty of economics, business and management.

In recent years, Sofiko Dzhvarsheishvili was awarded a number of grants, funded by the European Commission program “Erasmus plus mobility for teaching”.  Over periods of time, she was invited to give lectures at the faculties of economics and business administration at the Universities of Germany (Koblenz University of Applied Sciences), France (Catholic University de Lille) and Turkey (Afyon Kocatepe University).

During 2011-2017, she was the manager of the double degree master’s program „Managing International Enterprises” between Friedrich Schiller Jena University (Germany) and Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, faculty of economics and business; The project was funded by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD);

Among other highlights of her previous work experience noteworthy Sofiko Dzhvarsheishvili’s involvement in 2016 as an expert for the joint project of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations and the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development (FAO-EBRD).

In 2018-2019, she managed undergraduate Georgian and English business administration programs at the Georgian European Higher Education Institution. She has participated in numerous international conferences and has published a number of scientific papers. She is fluent in English, German and Russian.
