From March to June 2026, within the framework of the Erasmus+ CBHE project ERIC-GE – “Strengthening Research and Innovation Capacities in Georgian Higher Education Institutions,” Clarivate delivered a series of six professional online webinars for the consortium member universities. The academic staff of Alterbridge University actively participated in the webinar series.

The webinars aimed to familiarize participants with the capabilities of the Web of Science platform, modern approaches to scientific information retrieval, and research support tools. The program covered both the platform’s core functionalities and practical applications, as well as contemporary approaches to planning and evaluating academic research. During the introductory session, participants explored the main Web of Science databases, researcher profile creation, citation indexing, and effective use of the platform’s resources.

The webinar series also addressed key topics such as searching and analyzing different types of scientific literature, applying advanced search techniques, using AI-powered research tools, organizing research outputs, and utilizing analytical features to support research activities.

A significant focus of the program was academic integrity and responsible research. Participants discussed unethical publishing practices, methods for identifying predatory journals and conferences, and the importance of maintaining research ethics in today’s academic environment.

Participation in these professional development webinars strengthens the research and analytical competencies of Alterbridge University’s academic staff, promotes the effective use of international scientific resources, and contributes to improving the quality of research. These activities are fully aligned with the objectives of the ERIC-GE project and represent another important step toward fostering an internationally oriented research environment and enhancing the University’s academic and research capacity.
